In memory of Julian Hall & Derek Walton
Julian passed away on the eve of 2026; Derek left us in March of 2020. Both are missed by all who knew them.
Our friends managed their cancer journeys with courage and resilience, inspiring many others with their honest, pragmatic, and often humorous ‘take’ on their illness.
We continue to raise money in their memory and are working towards a dream of raising £40,000 for three causes close to our hearts.
Our friends had Cancer. Neither was a victim.

Macmillan Cancer Support
Macmillan help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, providing physical, financial and emotional support. They’ll do whatever it takes — listening and supporting people however they need it, big or small.
Last year their services reached an estimated 2.3 million people affected by cancer. Their nurses, support workers and palliative care teams supported around 730,000 people living with cancer, and their Welfare Rights Service identified £310 million in benefits for those who needed it.

Blood Cancer UK
Around 40,000 people are diagnosed with blood cancer each year in the UK, with about 280,000 currently living with it. Blood Cancer UK was founded in 1960 by the Eastwoods after their daughter Susan died of leukaemia just weeks after her diagnosis.
In 1960, only 1 in 10 children survived that form of leukaemia. Today, thanks to research, it’s 9 in 10. Over 60 years they’ve funded £500m of research and now want to beat blood cancer in a generation. That has got to be worth supporting.

Bekah Walton — Javelin Champ!
Derek Walton was a good friend to all of us, also tragically taken by cancer during the Covid lockdown. His daughter Bekah is one of the UK’s brightest athletics stars, having represented Great Britain multiple times in javelin. She is already British No 1, a three-time UK Champion and European bronze medallist in her age group.
UK Sport does not fund javelin, so we’ve included Bekah in our fundraising to help with travel, training and equipment costs.
